Adventures in Vermont

I was finally able to get back to my home state of Vermont to visit family and friends this past week. My family has not seen the baby since this time last year, and some of my family had not even met him yet.

I had lots on my agenda, so many people I wanted to visit and places I wanted to go with only a week to do it in.

First stop was the Rutland County Farmer's Market to pick up some fresh food and fixin's for my stay. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this market has grown substantially since I lived there. There were so many wonderful vendors, it was hard to not spend all my cash. I discovered that you can use your credit or debit card to purchase $5 tokens that were good at any of the food vendors, brilliant idea!

My first purchase was some marinara sauce and sesame salad dressing from Bob and Irene Gordon and their Gordon's Pond Products. Irene makes these products from their home, the ingredient label even includes LOVE. Ethan especially loved the salad dressing and enjoyed dipping his veggies into it.

As I was walking around a sign caught my eye and I knew I had to stop at this booth! FILTHY FARM GIRL made me stop dead in my tracks! I had to stop in. A very warm young man named Richard was manning the booth and was very helpful in answering the questions I had about Filthy Farm Girl and how it came to be. The company is 100% Eco friendly, packaging is made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled paper by Greenline Paper. They even carry soap for your pooch: Filthy Farm Dog "Muddy Puppy".

If you are ever in Central Vermont on a Saturday make sure you check out the Rutland County Farmers Market, a gem in the heart of the city.
